Ark Synopsis. Set in 2021, the civilized species of Earth are under threat from an extinction level event (ELE). This impending disaster emanates from within our own solar system, yet to be formally identified by astronomers, is the vast planet named Ark. The 3400 year orbital path of this colossal Earth-like celestial body maintains catastrophic potential which is capable of destroying human life as we know it. However, Ark is also home to its own species, one almost identical to us. Arkans are very intelligent, tall beings, Egyptian in appearance with raven coloured hair and captivating violet eyes. Having evolved at an accelerated pace their technological advancements exceed ours by hundreds of years. Arkans are also spiritually supreme and demonstrate a self-awareness and level of sanctity which humans would scarcely comprehend. The Arkans are however, on our side. The inhabitants of Earth are broadly split into two categories. The Exopopulace (EXP) governed by the well-known political leaders and governments around the world representing the majority of humans. Plus the Endopopulace (ENP) consisting of powerful and wealthy people, many are born and bred in a network of deep underground bases and are mostly indifferent to the rest of us. They describe themselves as working closely with numerous alien species for the “benefit of humankind”, yet little of such precious knowledge has surfaced to the outside world. This increases friction between them and their collaborating alien races who are continually dismayed about the very lack of benefits for the human ENP. The book follows an Eridanian alien called Geoff. It details his struggle to help a selected number of humans survive the event with the help of the Arkan people. The Earth event is unstoppable and will destroy the infrastructure and very fabric of the human race, killing billions and essentially wiping out the entire population. To ensure our survival it is the intention of the Arkans with the help of the Eridanians to secretly save one million EXP Terran's who have been pre-selected. They will be transferred to the giant planet to start a new life in cities already built. The book centers on a variety of interconnected characters as it builds up to the event and the transfer of those who are to be saved. The most important humans for transfer are personally contacted before the event. Geoff’s contact is called Brian. A significant individual unknowingly destined to become leader of “The Arkan People of Earth”. What follows is Brian’s struggle to find his girlfriend (Mary) and her daughter (Louise) before his transfer. At the same time detailing Mary’s personal struggle to get to her daughter with martial law and curfews in place and an increasingly hostile environment. It is upon Ark that other sub-plot characters are developed, two of which are Zac and Mia, a husband and wife couple originating from the planet. Zac, as a commander in the Arkan navy is essential to the entire transfer process for which the planet is preparing. However during an intervention from the Draconian/Rigellians (D/R) a large fighter fur ball ensues with individual dogfights. The enemy craft are much stronger than normal and Zac is badly wounded as his fighter crashes on Earth. Temporarily stranded he is vital in the interwoven web unfolding and will ultimately save Brian’s girlfriend Mary in a brutal encounter with the terrible Terran twins, Vince and Boris. The sub plots throughout all culminate towards the event and the transfer process. There are also other less friendly alien races introduced who have their own agenda and use for humans that underpins their own survival. The end of the book leaves the story open for a follow on with the suggestion that the old Arkan faction have their own agenda for the future of their new human guests. Plus some humans have survived the event and are piecing together their new lives in a climate far removed from what they were used to previously.
