Sharon Virkler was born and raised in Towaco, New Jersey, the second of four children in the family. She’s a typical middle child. Sharon attended Northeastern Bible College in Essex Fells, New Jersey, and received a Diploma in Biblical Literature. She then attended Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing in Montclair, New Jersey and became licensed as a Registered Nurse. Following a move to Florida, the groundwork for Anticipatience was born as Sharon prepared weekly Bible studies for a group of single women seeking to know what God had to say about singleness, relationships and marriage. While she never expected to still be single at this point in her life, her passion for the principles of Anticipatience remains just as strong, and she still believes that God can and will provide a husband for her. Sharon has worked as the campus nurse in the student health center at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida since 2006. She loves working with college students, and particularly enjoys her time serving as a mentor to young women. She is a member of Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church in Lake Worth, Florida. Sharon loves reading books that make her think, getting up to watch the sunrise, visiting National Parks, spending time with the greatest family in the world, trying out new recipes on willing friends, good coffee and laughing at the most inconsequential things. And she has no doubt that God has an amazing plan for her life. Anticipatience – A New Word of Hope for Single Women was first published as a paperback by Green Key Books in 2004. The book was translated into Spanish the following year by the Christian Literature Crusade under the title “El arte de esperar sin desesperar”. Sharon began writing her blog, “Anticipatience – Lessons Learned in the Waiting” in 2010 (http://sharonvirkler.wordpress.com/). A friend from Chile translates the blog entries into Spanish at http://elartedeesperar.wordpress.com/
