Overview
This is a story of loving and healing of breaking and hurting, of the pains and sorrows and beautiful rebuilding that happens when one is in love. A story of passion. I share this with you so that when the time comes you are willing to open your heart to the wonder that love is. May you find peace in knowing that your remarkable experiences are only a result of your tender heart, even if that sweetness lays in the past… Never compromise your heart of gold.
Description
This is a story of loving and healing of breaking and hurting, of the pains and sorrows and beautiful rebuilding that happens when one is in love. A story of passion. I share this with you so that when the time comes you are willing to open your heart to the wonder that love is. May you find peace in knowing that your remarkable experiences are only a result of your tender heart, even if that sweetness lays in the past… Never compromise your heart of gold. I am delighted to share my story with you all, it has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. This is a composition of my thoughts, my feelings, written in poetry, verse, simple lines and rants, a brief look at a time in my teenage years that had a profound impact on who I am today. My book predominantly follows the ups and downs of a relationship. Please keep in mind that this is only the first part. The rest is yet to come. Please understand that I am sacrificing part of my story for my privacy, but I am just like you. I am a sister, a daughter, a friend, a lover. I am emotional and I cry and I beg and I scream and I stand back up. Growing up is hard, but it is beautiful. If you need someone to talk to, I can listen. If you know me personally, I ask that you do not try to "connect the dots." Just enjoy.
About the author
About the Author I am currently a student at the University of North Texas, majoring in Political Science and Communication Studies on a pre-law track. I was raised by two loving parents in the suburbs of Katy, TX. I excelled in academics and was always a social butterfly. I was more of an "artistic" child, though I didn't particularly excel in any of the arts. As I got older, I played softball before falling in love with the sport of wrestling in High School. I wrestled representing Obra D. Tompkins High School for three years with an amazing team and coaches who led us to win second in the state of Texas two years in a row. This is my first book being published, however, I have journal after journal of writing that I have yet to share with the world. I have always been a passionate writer, though it was not until about seventh grade that I started developing an interest in poetry and prose. In my English class that year we wrote journal entries every day in which we were given a lot of creative freedom which allowed me to explore and dive into my writing style the way that I pleased. This is the earliest memory that I have of really emotional, heavy writing. In High School, the curriculum was focused heavily on analytical writing and I was forced to separate my academic writing from what I was really passionate about. I had always dreamt of publishing a book, and I knew that one day I would but I always thought it would be when I was older, maybe even married with kids. Over the latter half of the year, I was given inspiration like no other- heartbreak. Publishing this story (An Ode to Us & Growing Pains) is a part of my healing. This is me letting go. I hope that these books aid you in your own journey and guide you through your successes and your pains.
