An Infinite Mirror

This is an anthology of work - fiction, non-fiction, poetry and more - inspired by parents and parenthood. The richness of so many stories (especially family stories) often comes from reflecting on the hardest of memories. Past events give our current stories greater depth and meaning. A joyful event becomes all the brighter when contrasted with a sorrowful time in the past or one that may loom in the future. This anthology is not simply a tribute to the perfect mother, the perfect father or the perfect child. Though the writing included presents many examples of wonderful parents and inspiring parent-child relationships, we recognize that no one is perfect, and thus, no relationship is perfect. There is breadth of human experience here to share. An Infinite Mirror is a celebration of the joys of parenthood, childhood and the enduring gift of a parent's love. It is also a celebration of our capacity for forgiveness, personal growth, healing and change. When we are vulnerable, we not only produce some of our best writing, but we are also our best selves.

Kate Cassidy lives and writes in suburban Philadelphia, where she creates content for a multinational media and communications company. Previously, she's worked in arts and entertainment editorial and has published academic research examining the representation of female leaders in cable "news" programming. Her poetry was recently featured in the feminist literary magazine, They Call Us, and she's forever working on a novel. Kate hopes to one day do all her writing from a thatched roof Irish cottage along the Wild Atlantic Way with her husband and French Bulldog in tow. Inspirations include James Baldwin, Joan Didion, e.e. cummings, Audre Lorde and James Joyce.
