Overview
Even in the wake of something as tragic as the death of a young girl, sometimes, hilarious things happen. And sometimes, even a tragedy can help us become more thankful we’ve had the opportunity to walk a while upon this incredible planet.
Description
At its heart, “Alma Matters” is a simple story about the events that lead to the end of Alma Wilson’s brief life - and what occurs afterward that teaches Alma's brother and some of his friends that, after a tragedy, not only does life go on, but that hilarious things still happen. Along the way, they learn that perhaps it's true that some good can be coaxed out of even truly awful situations. Set primarily in the early seventies, each wonderfully flawed character has a story to tell as, together, they live through the many events that made those years so very interesting. And, as the story unfolds, some of them learn more about themselves than they probably ever cared to know.
About the author
surrogate (small “s”) is admittedly a lousy pseudonym, but Mark Twain was already taken, (by some selfish so-and-so). The resident writer at the prestigious writer’s residence where he resides (and writes), surrogate’s just a blogger who had the need to tell a story a little longer than his three or four regular readers would tolerate, so? -Here ya go.
