This small but mighty collection of 40 short poems is constructed as a circle; it encapsulates the terrain of our lives' most powerful, continuous themes: freedom, truth, narrative, power, fear, pain, death, and birth. It's an attempt to illustrate the universal experiences we each endure, the ways they affect our lives, and how what we share can bring us together. This collection is a celebration of Atwood's work and the author's attempt to respond to the dilemmas posed in Alias Grace. Fans of Atwood may appreciate this work's direct approach, specific language choices, large questions, and visual imagery.
About the author

Colby Mackenzie is an artist, writer, and yoga teacher based outside Washington, DC. Alias All is Colby's first poetry collection. She began writing poetry in early 2020 as a healing practice during the coronavirus pandemic. She is self-taught, leaning on nature as her primary teacher along with works by Mary Oliver, Margaret Atwood, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Lucille Clifton and many others. Colby believes in the power of language and that poetry is good, good medicine. She also created the series "Love and Friends", a monthly community letter investigating love and related concepts & skills as critical elements of personal and global healing.
