Description


Charles is a mischievous young chipmunk who convinces his friend Sylvester, a sly squirrel, to sneak out one evening and run around their town of Woodland. The youngsters bite off a bit more than they can chew and get caught by Charles' parents, who force their son to own up to his misbehavior. Charles and Sylvester head out on a journey through the forest to try and repair the damage that has been done. Along the way, the two learn lessons of sharing and giving back to the community. In the end, Charles and Sylvester earn back the trust of their families and the rest of the town of Woodland by taking responsibility for their actions.

About The Author


Martha Mauck was born in Massachusetts and raised in New Hampshire, where she attended Mascoma Valley Regional High School in Enfield. After graduating from Fischer Junior College in Boston, she worked briefly for the State Department in Washington, D.C., before moving back to New England to raise a family. She volunteered for a variety of community and faith-based organizations and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Martha spent winters in Florida with her husband, Gary, before he passed away in 2021. She eventually moved to Texas to be near her son and began writing her first children's book, "Acorns for All!"
