In his first novel, British novelist James Goldfinch has created a new thriller hero in his Ben Chase character. Now a photo journalist with a past in the services, Ben is attempting to enjoy a family holiday with his wife and teenage children when his daughter, Lisa, goes missing together with a new travelling companion, Abigail. Using a combination of his newly evolved investigative skills and those learned in his former role, he embarks on an adventure to establish her whereabouts. The story develops from the viewpoint of both Ben and his daughter, in a journey through the Mediterranean. .

Born in Bolton,England in1955, James Goldfinch attended Bolton County Grammar School. He followed a path which subsequently saw him qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor and eventually establishing a practice in the North of England, with his wife. Two grown up children complete his family. A keen fan of action and thriller novels, but on some occasions disappointed by the lack of pace, he elected to attempt at writing his own. Completing such a time consuming exercise whilst continuing an established career, this debut novel was produced over a prolonged period. However, with the encouragement of his family, it is now available to the world. This protracted situation will not be repeated with the sequel!
