Overview
A book of poems written during a cross-country trip in a recreational vehicle.
Description
This is a book of poems that I wrote as my family, my wife and four rescue dogs, and I drove cross-country in a thirty-six foot motor home, This was our first trip in retirement, after selling both house and business, we lived and travelled full-time in the motor home. These poems were written during this trip and were written at many different places across the Southern and South-western United States as we made our way to our final destination in Arizona.
About the author
AUTHOR BIO Gordon W. Burton is a retired United Methodist minister, having worked the last 30 years of his ministry as a hospital chaplain. In retirement he moved into a motor home with his wife and four rescue dogs and headed West to the Verde Valley of Arizona, where they have settled in the little town of Rimrock. The Ark, Burton's Ark, is the motorhome, so named by a friend because of the dogs who travel with them. The Burton's enjoy hiking the Verde Valley and Sedona area with two of their dogs and a group of friends, as well as kayaking the Verde River. In addition to writing, Gordon plays Native American flute at various venues in and around the Sedona area, making Native American flutes out of bamboo from the Verde River. When not in their Verde Valley home in Rimrock, you might find them and their pack roaming the country in The Ark.
