Description
The Calling - The Mission - The Flight - It's An Adventure! "A museum piece aircraft, the Mach 3, XB-70 Valkyrie, is suddenly moved from the exhibit floor of the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB to Hangar 18 where a "Skunk Works" team of scientists and engineers rebuild it to fly again on a high priority secret mission halfway round the world. The government and Air Force have an aggressive combat mission in mind...but the crew who will fly Valkyrie have another." This is not a "Save The World" religious story...and yet it is. The novel is based on true facts laced with fiction. You'll have to decide what is real, what is fiction...and what is possible. "BREAKAWAY" is a 21st Century air odyssey...an aviation adventure guided by faith, miracles and the honed skills of a pilot and his crew. Scott William Shepard, "Scotty" as his friends call him, shelved church, faith and religion in a far corner of his life years ago and wasn't looking for miracles. His life has been guided by the raw numbers and equations of an engineer and the practiced skills of a pilot. Retirement is at his doorstep with a forty year aviation career coming to a close. However, his well planned future is turned upside down by an unexpected visit from an angel named Michael. Michael has been assigned a mission...and is looking for a pilot and crew to help him. Scott Shepard will learn the meaning of taking "a leap of faith" ...a leap that forces him and his crew to make a decision between the real world and a conflicting spiritual one filled with powerful forces of both good and evil. His decision returns him to the cockpit of a high performance aircraft, changes the course of his life and ignites a global miracle witnessed on the world stage. Join the crew and their adventure!
