Description
How does a shy, backward country boy who grew up in a small rural community become a senior program specialist in the United States Department of Education in Washington D.C.? How did that happen? Was he just lucky?
I was that boy, and this book is my story! I had no idea I would be privileged to serve our country by helping the next generation of agriculturalists. Sometimes, it's hard for me to believe I've had such a wonderful career and life. I do know that I did not do it alone—God, my family, and my friends were all important parts of my journey. I am truly amazed by the people I have met, the places I have been, and the things I have done. God has blessed this Missouri farm boy beyond belief. As I have gotten much older and shared memories with others, many of my listeners have said, "You should write a book!"
The purpose of this book is to share my story, beliefs, background, and point of view on significant moments in my life. While it is not intended to be a history book for agriculture education/FFA, I was involved in that field during a critical time in its history. If you're interested in navigating organizational change through challenging times, this book can provide insight.
