Overview
This book weaves together history, faith, and a different world in a very complicated way. It finds a lot of parallels between a place in the Bible and a country today that is at a moral and spiritual crossroads. The story goes on to show how the rise and fall of one society can be linked to the rise and fall of a culture from a long time ago. This shows that history does repeat itself in many ways. The thing that really impressed me was how well the author mixed historical details with an interesting, thought-provoking story. This made events that happened a long time ago feel current and important.
The storytelling is immersive, depicting a world in which the past and present coexist, allowing readers to see firsthand the effects of individual and national decisions. The writing is rich and atmospheric, with a sense of wisdom that causes one to pause and contemplate. The themes of faith, redemption, and the importance of staying true to moral and spiritual principles resonate deeply, regardless of one's beliefs.
One of the book's greatest strengths is its ability to take historical and biblical references and infuse them with a fresh, modern perspective. The story gives life to history, therefore transforming it into a prism through which we may view the modern world. It does not only tell it. It asks readers to examine historical lessons and how they could be relevant to political environments, modern events, and personal choices.
What I loved most was the way the book encourages introspection. The author has a way of posing questions that linger long after the final page. Are we doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past? Can a nation course-correct before it's too late? And how much each person shapes the destiny of a civilization? These questions are deftly weaved throughout the narrative, so transforming it from a story to an invitation to closer examination.

A Parallel Time & Place is a book of Fantasy written for a present-day generation living in troubled times, when millions are searching for truth and answers. A man named King Josiah also lived in a distressing era in the ancient time and place of biblical Judah. The king is an historical figure and his acts of reform are recorded in the biblical account. Likewise, prophets who foretold the future, such as Isaiah, Zephaniah, Huldah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, plus others, lived in ancient Judah at that time and their prophecies are also recorded in the scriptural record.
These were all ancient people who truly lived and their stories are based on accounts from the bible. So, in one sense this book is historical fiction with the story provided by the biblical facts. But these characters point the way for understanding truth in all times and places, because the lessons to be learned from them are as applicable to people in the modern world as they were to those who lived all those long centuries ago.
Thus, the outline of this book is provided by facts from scripture occurring in a particular era, but it builds upon that biblical foundation by adding characters to aid in the story telling. Hence, a work of fantasy is created with the addition of the fictional character, Saphah, from modern America, who travels back in time to the ancient city of Jerusalem in the land of Judah during the time of the reforming King Josiah.
So how does all of this happen? An angel named Malak is sent by God to transport Saphah to a cave where she processes through a machine that transitions her from a regular human into a person endowed by God with super human abilities for her survival in that place.
But Saphah wonders why she is traveling to Judah. Malak explains to the woman that she is visiting the past to learn firsthand that the immorality present in that time and place foreshadows the wickedness present in her current world. Saphah soon discovers that events in those ancient times are eerily like current happenings in her modern nation and that Judah is a parallel time and place to America. Then she's informed that God has appointed her as a spiritual watchwoman for America, and she can learn spiritual lessons for her present world through a journey into that alternate reality.
