Description
Two cat brothers, Bubbles and Squeak, and their friend, Brutus, head down to the river one night in hopes of finding a tasty treat of fresh fish. Instead the night turns into a raft trip down river, compliments of a rival gang of strays who, after a cat fight, send them on their way. After an ordeal with a coyote and the near drowning of Bubbles, the felines finally crash into a log that halts their journey away from their home. Their struggle to get back home brings them face to face with a raccoon named Chatty, a pair of sandhill cranes and a badger named Benjamin. With home finally in their sight they encounter the gang of strays once again. Ultimately the cats finally make it home and back to their everyday routine.
About the author
Michael Carignan has worked most of his life as a journalist and photographer. He published his first article with photos in 1974 and has continued to publish ever since. Since the summer of 2000 he has worked as an editor for newspapers in south central Wisconsin, currently for the Sauk Prairie STAR. During his career as a journalist he has published thousands of news articles, feature articles and photos. In 1997 he, along with other artists and technicians, started MADJEC JET Publishing Co. Over its 13 years in business the company published 26 titles. Carignan contributed as editor on many of those titles. Carignan has previously authored two titles “The First Witness” and Rudy Too and Santa’s Lost Sack,” both children’s books. He has been a contributor to three other published titles, “Over the Coals: Campfire Cookery,” “They Led Us To Today: A History of North Freedom, Wisconsin” and “Sauk County Journal 1848-1998.” In his personal life Carignan retired in 2013 from local government, having served 20 years as a village trustee and village president. He firmly believes the future of our planet relies on the development of affordable, quality renewable energy technology. Currently he has several writing projects on the table and hopes to bring those to publication over the upcoming years.
