About The Author


Garry Menendez is a registered landscape architect and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Plant Sciences at The University of Tennessee. For fifteen years he led students on study abroad experiences throughout Europe and Japan. He currently maintains a small private practice focusing on environmentally sensitive landscape design. Throughout his tenure at UT, Garry has received awards for advising, writing, community service, and teaching, including the National Alumni Association's Award for Outstanding Teaching.
