Dr. Julia Mayo-Johnston aka Dr Julia Mayo is a licensed clinical social work therapist, and a Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association. She has worked as a behavioral medical scientist, clinical psychotherapy supervisor and academic professor in the Department of Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Catholic Hospital and Medical Center, Manhattan, NY from 1966 through 1996. She is Professor of Psychiatry, Emeritus, New York Medical College, and Valhalla, NY. Dr Mayo is credentialed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Group Psychotherapist, Clinical Neurolinguistic Hypnotherapist, PTSD therapist and Forensic Expert Consultant. She belongs to numerous scientific organizations, and has published numerous scientific articles in her field. She has traveled and lectured widely on topics of Bipolar Disorder, and Cultural Psychiatry. She has won numerous awards for professional excellence. Dr. Mayo-Johnston continues to maintain a small select private practice as a Life Coach Therapist.
