Overview
A Day with Ted and Mike is a comic strip for children, families and stuffed animals. Ted and Mike, stuffed animals themselves, run amok while you’re at school or out shopping. When you’re not looking, they are chasing through the halls, inventing and cooking up mischief. Ted and Mike’s imagination takes us on adventures that defy size, location and common sense. Ted is a soft and cuddly teddy bear with the mentality of a six year old, where everything revolves around him. He has a love for large power tools, chain saws, backhoes, and zambonis. He is always seen with his pal Mike, the Moose. It’s a great friendship even though Ted is always taking advantage of it. It’s amazing what you can get away with when you have a smile permanently stitched on your face. Mike is an overstuffed and sensible moose who goes along with Ted’s antics despite his better judgement. Mike has the mentality of an eight year old, making him the “mature” one, but even with his good conscience, he still gets into plenty of trouble. Mike has an unbelievable patience for Ted’s nonsense.

About the author
Gerard (Gerry) McCormack was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1960 and began drawing cartoon characters in earnest when he was 19 years old. Three years later he went to ACA (Alberta College of Art) where he enrolled in drawing and printmaking for two years. The next two years were spent developing a family strip called “Lawrence”. Lawrence, a ten month old baby boy and his stuffed bear created trouble among other stuffed animals and friends. This strip created a great deal of rejection from the syndicates but plenty of laughs from family, friends and strangers. CTV television in Canada invited Gerry and “Lawrence” to Toronto in the spring of 1986 and was filmed for a show called “Thrill of a Lifetime.” The strip had a one day run in the Toronto Sun creating exactly zero pieces of fan mail. Having learned that this is a hard way to make a living, he hung-up his pencils and pursued a business degree at the University of Calgary which also proved to be a hard way to make a living. He later began working as a graphic artist, web designer and a graphic design instructor at Mount Royal University. Gerry’s two kids love drawing and encouraged their dad to draw with them. After months of drawing on the floor, he pulled in his drawing table which had been left out in the rain. Ted and Mike started as a children’s book which was never was completed. This lead to the comic strip called “A Day with Ted and Mike”. After months of rejection from the syndicates, he decided that a web comic was the way to go and published his strip on Comic Sherpa at gocomic.com from 2007 to 2009. The strip won many daily Editors favourite awards. Finally, an ebook called A Day with Ted and Mike - Typical Ted was produced. Others will follow shortly. Hope you enjoy the strips.
