Description
Two voyagers are bound together by a twist of fate on a journey that will forever change both of their lives. Griff’s long-planned for sailing voyage from his home state of Florida to the pristine waters of Costa Rica in Central America are suddenly altered, when young Jeff’s family is suddenly taken from him. Being the nearest of relation by prior marriage, Griff is forced to make a change of course in his life’s plans to accommodate the newly-orphaned boy. A generation between them and worlds apart in their ideologies, forced by circumstance to sail a perilous journey in a thirty-eight-foot sailboat, the pair discovers what it means to work together to survive the unrelenting trans-oceanic voyage. Change of Course takes you on a nautical journey unlike any other, where wind, waves and all manner of things spectacular prove to be the journey of a lifetime. Based on the real-life experiences of the author, the story brilliantly interweaves these real-life experiences with an amazing tale of adventure, loyalty and sacrifice.
About the author
Author Glenn Henderson began sailing at age twelve on the waters of Tampa Bay. He has a professional background in yacht design. After completing studies at University of North Florida, he bought a twenty-six foot sailboat. He spent the next six years sailing the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. When asked what he did in that time he replies, "Besides trying to stay afloat, I studied the Westlawn School of Yacht Design correspondence course. Just before my boat was totally worn out, I sailed to St. Petersburg, Florida to start my career." He started the sailboat manufacturing company, SR> Sailboats. Focusing on race boat design, he spent years in the racing circuit. After selling that company to C&C Yachts in nineteen-ninety-five, he began designing full time. He now lives in Costa Rica with his wife and sails their Pearson 35 in the Pacific whenever possible.
