About the author
Maryclara Joyce was born on September 9, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas. She has three children: Denise, Paul and Matthew, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. In 1972 Maryclara spent 43 days in the hospital where she began writing poetry and dreaming of publishing her own book of poems. After her mother's passing in 2002, Maryclara retired to Clyde, Ks., where she currently lives with her Chihuahua, Thumbelina writing poetry and volunteering within the
community.
