About the author
I have been passionate about health and fitness for as long as I can remember. I have worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years. I’ve done everything from teaching dance classes, organizing health fairs, creating health and wellness education programs for rural communities, and working as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. As a military spouse for 14 years, I’ve lived all over the country and been able to share my love of health and fitness with a variety of clients from around the world – everyone from elementary school students to college athletes to Las Vegas fitness professionals.
I have developed the concepts in this book after years of educating myself about fitness and nutrition. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in both Exercise Science and Community Health and Wellness as well as an MBA in Health Care Management. I’ve worked with countless clients and learned from my friends in the industry and through my own trial and error. I’m driven to educate others with accurate, science-based information when it comes to health and fitness, and I want to provide this information in a simple and easy-to-understand fashion. Health and wellness shouldn’t be complicated! It should fit into life’s cracks – not make more cracks in your already hectic life.
I am blessed to have been able to help a variety of people reach their health goals and a large part of that journey is creating healthy relationships with food. I have put together flexible eating concepts that encourage healthy eating habits in a hectic world of fast food and non stop entertaining. All too often the guidance we get is unrealistic to a REAL person with a REAL life full of kids, practice, work, school and everything in between. Learning to make smart sensible choices is key to our success, as well as being consistent and patient with the journey. This book brings my flexible eating concepts to everyone, these concepts I have used to help hundreds of people reach goals while enjoying celebratory dinners and dessert, lose food anxiety by empowering them to make choices based on knowledge not fear and end unhealthy relationships with the foods they normally eat.
You can balance food, life and your health! and yes, you CAN eat that!
