Life has a sense of humor. Sometimes it can be twisted. You have to find the bright side. You look into the mirror for the answers you are seeking. Or rather you know deep down the answers you just need that confirmation. Lisa and her daughter are in a plane crash in another country. Lisa has lost half of her body and her daughter's brain is no longer functioning decisions have to be made quick. Donor surgery in another country with two Americans is complicated, but toss in that each was a donor in the surgery and only one walked away. How can a mother go on when she has lost her daughter and been given another chance at life. Her daughter gave her life and bestowed another Surprise gift! Who should she be and how will she cope with her final decision?

We like to believe that the choices we make are good ones.  Often we look back, and wish we had made different choices.  Emotions can fog our sight making our choices more difficult.  Our families and friends help us make those choices.  Even if our choices are not so perfect the love of our family and friends are a joy that shines even in our darkest moments.

Lisa Goodwin is an elementary school teacher for over 28 years. She keeps active in the local Irish club (IACS), American Association of University Women (AAUW), and Delta Kappa Gamma Society (DKG). Her daughter, Michaela is currently away at Rowan college earning her Bachelors in Science degree. Lisa lives in southern New Jersey with her husband Richard and their standard poodle Bella. Lisa's idea for the book came when she and her daughter were flying to Europe.
