Features: • easy to read and understand making this perfect for anyone wanting to get into Scripture – new Christians, old Christians and non Christians • faithful to the text and meaning of the original, but using today’s language to help give a clear understanding of the text • verses grouped in passages without verse numbers • Synoptic Gospels presented as one narrative, presenting the story of Jesus clearly to the reader • brief introductions to each New Testament book offer a summary of the book and an insight into it from the author.
Description
Who is Jesus? Lots of people ask that question. Many others have an answer. How can we find out for ourselves? The Bible is where the story unfolds – but getting into it, let alone understanding it, is another matter. Time then for a fresh introduction to the world’s bestseller and the one named Jesus who is at the centre of it all. ‘This book is for people who don’t read the Bible,’ the author Paul Langham explains. ‘I have tried to imagine how the New Testament authors might have written had they been alive today.’ A stepping stone for people who have never made it past the cover of a New Testament, and a refresher for those who have got stuck, Who? gets to the heart of the question. Features • easy to read and understand making this perfect for anyone wanting to get into Scripture – new Christians, old Christians and non Christians • faithful to the text and meaning of the original, but using today’s language to help give a clear understanding of the text • verses grouped in passages without verse numbers • Synoptic Gospels presented as one narrative, presenting the story of Jesus clearly to the reader • brief introductions to each New Testament book offer a summary of the book and an insight into it from the author
