This book presents the Westminster Larger Catechism in its Original Version along with a new Korean translation. Westminster Larger Catechism, so rich in biblical teaching, has long been neglected in modern times, even by conservative Presbyterians who embrace it as a part of the Westminster Standards. Here, Woonsup Park presents his personal translation of this timeless treasure into modern Korean, as an improved alternative to existing Korean translations that often fail to convey the richness and intended meaning of the original text. The translator hopes this work would benefit Korean Christians who want to study this full, balanced, edifying summary of the Christian Faith as the Larger Catechism is a useful and worthy aid to any believer as he grows in the knowledge of God's truth. Even though the translator is not a formally trained theologian or pastor, he has been studying reformed theology through classic and contemporary literatures and radio and on-line teaching ministries. Living and working in English speaking environment and serving the church in a bi-lingual capacity in Korean American churches last forty years equipped the author uniquely qualified to tackle this translation endeavor. 이 책은 웨스트민스터 대교리문답의 한국어 번역서입니다. 대교리문답은 소요리문답이나 웨스트민스터 신앙고백에 비해 널리 알려지지 않았지만 그 내용이 소요리문답보다 훨씬 깊으면서도 신앙고백보다는 읽고 이해하기가 쉬운 개혁 신앙의 보석 같은 문서입니다. 문장이 때로는 매우 길고 370년 전의 영어로 씌였기에 기존의 한국어 번역이 그 내용을 충실히 전하지 못했었는데 이책에서 보다 원문에 충실하면서도 쉽게 읽을 수 있는 번역을 시도했습니다. 역자는 신학자나 목회자는 아니지만 지난 수십년동안 개혁신학을 수많은 책들을 통해서, 그리고 미국의 유명한 신학자들의 설교방송을 통해서 깊히 연구하며 웨스트민스터 신앙고백과 교리문답들을 한어권의 성도들과 영어권의 한인 2세들에게 가르쳐 오면서 웨스트민스터 표준문서들의 기존의 한국어 번역에 많은 오류와 문제점들이 있음을 발견하고 이번에 대교리문답을 새롭게 번역하게 되었습니다. 이 책을 통해 여러분들이 대교리문답이 전하는 개혁신학의 진수를 발견할 수 있게 되기를 희망합니다. 여기에 인용된 십계명은 새번역 한글성경을 따랐으나 많은 분들이 암송하는 주기도문은 개역개정 한글 성경을 그대로 인용했습니다.
