Inspired by a true story, Tyson’s Tail is based on the author's personal experience of losing her beloved crazy cat Tyson. Lovingly written for anyone experiencing grief from their pet's death, Tyson's Tail celebrates the eternal power of love, friendship and spirit. 

About the author

Born in historic Morristown, New Jersey, Melissa Desmond has loved animals all her life. While Melissa had experienced pet loss as a child, it was the tragic death of her beloved cat Tyson later in life, and the incredible experiences that followed, that inspired her to write Tyson's Tail. 

As a mother of two girls, Arabella and Indiana, Melissa wanted to share her magical, spirited story to help heal the hearts of animal lovers of all ages. She hopes her story will be a warm hug to any reader feeling the painful loss that comes with the death of a beloved pet, and inspire them to go on their own journey from grief to gratitude.
