Description
Thomas Bitnar Architect: Selected Projects is a full-color monograph of architecture projects in Europe and the United States by award-winning international architect Thomas Bitnar FAIA. Thomas Bitnar grew up in Prague surrounded by all styles of European architecture, but the International Style, Czech Functionalism, and Czech Cubism have most influenced his work. His professional experience spans almost five decades, crossing boundaries from a Central Europe culture steeped in history and oppressed by Communism, through a Germany on the verge of transition, to the high-density business culture of New York City, and to the pioneer culture of the American West. His work is exemplified by designs of proportion, light, and harmony that transcend cultural and stylistic boundaries. This full-color selection of internationally recognized and award-winning projects by Thomas Bitnar illustrates his typological versatility and his ability to elevate the standards of architectural design through a blend of architecture traditions, a distinctly modernist approach, and sustainability.
