Overview

This first collection of 100 Wild Sonnets, published in 2019, contains some of my favorites from the entire sequence. I had just decided on the two seven-line stanzas to make up the 14 lines of the form, with their rhyming couplets at the close of each – and I think the writing at this stage of the project was uniquely rich and lyrically dense. In later books, I relaxed a little more into the lines – but this initial release strikes me still as uniquely muscular and musical.

Reviews for The Wild Sonnets: Volume I (1-100)

The first of a tradition
What a wonderful endeavor. I’m sure it’s destined to be the first of an epic series.

About the author

Nicholas Korn is a poet, playwright, filmmaker and composer. The first volume of Wild Sonnets was published in June 2018, with the second following in October 2019. His stage play, Delirium's Daughters, was featured Off-Broadway in 2015, and his film, Revel's Rivals, won the award for Best Animated Feature at the 2012 Louisville International Festival of Film.
