Casual or Intense read - the choice is yours I sat down with The Archeress the day I received it and read it over a (long) dinner. There are a variety of topics, from love and lovers, to insecurity and vulnerability. Olivia-Joy takes you all over the map of her experiences, to places warm and cold. Longer pieces are interleaved with short ones, and threads of context often flow from a few pages prior or hence. But most importantly, there are a lot of pieces that deserve time on their own, to soak in and simmer a bit in the consciousness of your soul. As the author exhorted me: Listen to your heart when you read it. There's a lot of emotion and thought waiting for you to sip and savor. I recommend leaving it on your coffee table and picking it up on occasion to thumb through, read, and treat over the coming seasons. As the author exhorted me: Listen to your heart when you read it.
