About the author
Lynne Dozier taught English Language Arts, Creative and Practical Writing and Advanced Placement Language and Composition; she also served as ELA Department Chair for thirteen years. During the last few years, she worked as Coordinator of Grants, Community Relations and Advanced Placement Programs. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree with majors in English, Art and Psychology at Southeast Missouri State and a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education at University of Houston. During her career as an educator/teacher/writer/researcher, she received several awards: AAUW (American Association of University Women) Outstanding Woman—Education Honoree (2012) Bob Costas/College Board Grants for Teaching Writing Award (2010) Klein ISD Superintendent’s Initiative Award (2010) Susan O’Connor Teaching Excellence Award (2008) .
