The Weavers and The Shuttles Fly spins a story of four generations of a family, torn apart and woven together in unexpected and unimaginable ways. It is the compelling tale of love and loss, joy and despair, triumph and tragedy, and hope for things seen and unseen.

Description
At eighteen years old, the only child of a wealthy Texas cotton rancher feels that circumstances beyond her control have stymied the dreams she once coveted, and that her life holds no promise for true happiness or love. Caught in a web of depression and grief, she cannot imagine a path forward, and she surrenders to the notion that nothing will ever change. However, she has no idea of the roads that lay ahead, the paths she will cross, or the secrets unveiled that will alter the pattern of her life and impact the legacy that she will leave in her wake.
About the author

Diane Kramer grew up in Chicago suburbia the fourth of six children. She received her Bachelor of Education degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and continued to live in the Kansas City area, raising her family of three children there. Currently, she and her husband have retired to Lawrence, Kansas where they are fortunate to enjoy their wonderful brood of four grandchildren who live close by.

Growing up, Diane was always happiest when involved in every extracurricular activity available to her. She continued this crazy lifestyle until pivotal events in her adult life prompted her to pull back, to take stock, and to consider her need for self-care. She learned how to say "no", to clear her calendar of the clutter, and to invest her time in activities that truly brought her joy. She considers this revelation to be the one of her most valuable life lessons.

Recently, Diane has embarked on a new journey as a writer, and has published three books to date. Palpitations recalls some of her most memorable and poignant moments in her thirty-seven years of mothering. Her children's book, Shoo! Nasty Bug, Don't Bother Me! is about the challenges children face living through a pandemic such as Covid19. All royalties from this book go to Direct Relief for PPE and to the support and benefit of our front-line workers.

As 2020 came to a welcome conclusion, Diane also completed her first fictional novel, The Weavers and The Shuttles Fly. The novel spins a tale of four generations of a family woven together in unexpected and unimaginable ways. It is a compelling story of love and loss, joy and despair, triumph and tragedy and hope for things seen and unseen. Diane looks forward to continuing her writing during her retirement years as it is an investment in time that brings her considerable joy.

The Weavers and The Shuttles Fly Love and hope are the two main attributes in this beautifully written novel that crosses many barriers caused by differing languages, diverse nationalities and complex relationships. There were surprising as well as sorrowful moments that the author skillfully wove to create an exquisite tapestry we call life. Having read many stories with similar themes, I felt this was one of the best to capture interest in the characters and true events were instilled to help make situations seem believable. Read more
