The Unique Charism of Diocesan Priestly Spirituality

Nine years of reflective writing, the book is based on the experience of a Trappist monk who held to the simplicity of that life as a diocesan priest for fifty-seven years. A spiritual educational tool for priests, seminarians, church hierarchy, and all Christians. It is an exploration of the metaphysical, evangelical, cosmological journey of priestly serving. 

The central thesis of The Unique Charism of Diocesan Priestly Spirituality is that we, like Jesus, walk on sacred ground. All existence in Jesus identifies the sacredness of space, territory, history, culture, and people's experience of the wonder of God. 

Getz combines the insight of Jesus and the Church as they journey together to a deep discovering of the roots and foundation diocesan priestly spirituality.

Monsignor Robert Getz believes that the diocesan priestly functioning has unique inclusivity that has only just begun to be realized. Drawing upon his personal prayer, reflection, writing and pastoring fourteen parish communities and eight missions in two historic dioceses, he wrote The Unique Charism of Diocesan Priestly Spirituality in hopes of sharing his experiences with the world.
