The chapters include his observations about his upbringing, wife, family life, five children, his career as a high school administrator and advisor, many civic pursuits, public speeches, church and religion, World War II, his own fiction, and nature and music. The book is supplemented by over 200 photographs of his ancestors and children and scans of clippings related to his life.
