These simple object families are fundamentally different because of their potential involvement in actions, be they naturally occurring actions or actions initiated by people. This deceptively simple method of classifying objects can be applied to a vast number of tangible and intangible objects of interest to both ordinary people and business organisations. Key to the structure of the Object Model is recognition that members of the action object family are things that can happen to other objects, and that action objects occur at specific places (or location objects) and at specific times (or time objects).
