Overview
The Merrimack Valley Works - Volume II, chronologically details the company from the beginning of the Haverhill Shops in 1943 to the demolition of the North Andover factory building in 2021.
Description
The Merrimack Valley Works - Volume II, details the history of the telecommunications companies that occupied the North Andover location from its construction in 1954 until the factory's demolition in 2021, Western Electric, AT&T (American Telephone and Telegraph) Network Systems, and Lucent Technologies. The book has a specific focus to detail, chronologically, every month's events. These events included the company's management, support staff, engineering, and production associates, employee group activities, and of course, the state-of-the-art and cutting-edge-of-technology products, designed and manufactured by the greatest people on Earth.
About the author

Charlie is a former 23-year employee of the Merrimack Valley Works, hired as a 209-grade Quality Appraiser, and advancing to Member of Technical Staff and a recipient of the Engineer Excellence Award.

He is currently an Administrative Instructional Specialist at Lowell High School in Massachusetts, working in education since 2005.

The idea of creating a book on the Merrimack Valley Works is one that spun around in his brain for about 20 years. The amount of collected materials finally got too overwhelming to ignore. Creating the book was a labor of love and a sincere tribute to all of the fantastic memories, inspirational leaders, engineering brilliance, cutting-edge telecommunications products, skillful production associates, and thousands of forever friends from MVW.
