Overview
Understanding life through poetry. Writing myself has been uncovering somebody I hadn't yet discovered.
Description
The Provocation of Paths Taken Meandering through three different cultures and languages has made my life an adventure, which has taught me so much. Above all, it has made me who I am: a woman who loves life and has lived a full and interesting one, albeit with ups and downs. Reading has always been a passion for me, ever since I was a child. Writing was part of my professional life as a teacher and researcher. But writing myself is something that I started to do in 2007 and it has been a therapy that has brought me much pleasure and perplexity! When I began writing poetry, I realized that I was ‘writing myself’ and on later reading what I had written, to see myself! It was probably the moment in which I realized consciously that the adversities of life had taught me to look at myself in the mirror and see myself. This is frightening and at times very painful, but I believe it to be necessary for the ride. Poetry for me is passion and it has been to see myself as I never had before. It is probably seeing myself as others see me and that is something I still find difficult to see. I hope you enjoy the read!
