Gorgeous Harty Art Song Collection Finally an authoritative collection of Romantic Irish art songs by Sir Hamilton Harty! Long hidden in archives, this newly curated edition by his grand-niece, pianist and scholar Jane Harty, presents absolute gems based on the works of a tantalizing variety of Irish poets, many of them women. Harty's settings, powerfully capture delight in fairies, fiddlers and fishermen, the beauty of the Irish countryside and village life, the deep love and rueful humor of Irish women, and the depth of struggle and loss of Irish men. The impeccably detailed volume, beautifully rendered for singers and pianists, challenges the imagination, leaving us hoping for more.....This elegant collection also includes the texts separately for those who simply love Irish poetry. - Diane L.
