Description
"The History of the Fowlers, 1562-2020, William "The Magistrate" and his Descendants" describes one family line of the Fowler family beginning with William Fowler who was born in Derbyshire, England in 1562. William arrived in America with his family in 1637. This book is a mix of genealogical facts, family stories, and social history. This combination provides an understanding of the times and places each descendant lived. Based on time periods and geographic movement of William's descendants, the book is divided into three volumes: Volume I, "The Fowlers of New England," covers five generations (including William) who lived in New England. William and his family moved to New England in 1637 as part of the Great Migration of Puritans and ends with Samuel Fowler [3] who lived in Southwick, Massachusetts until his death in 1771. Volume II, "The Fowlers of Trumbull County, Ohio," covers the next six generations of the Fowler family. Abner Fowler (1739 – 1806), the 3rd great-grandson of William Fowler, started life in New England, and was one of the earliest settlers in Trumbull County, Ohio. Fowler descendants still live in Trumbull County, Ohio. Volume III, "The Fowlers Go West," covers four generations of female descendants beginning with Julia Fowler (1808 – 1883), the 5th great-granddaughter of William Fowler and three of her female descendants who bravely moved to the wilderness and started homes on America's Great Plains.
About the author
Debra Kabinier's love of family history began in her pre-teen years when her great uncle and aunts would tell her stories of their lives and those of her ancestors. She always wanted to know more. Once Debra retired from government service, she pursued genealogy in earnest. Debra serves as the president of the Southern Arizona Genealogy Society, lectures, and teaches a variety of genealogy courses.
