Overview
Charley's young life took a drastic turn for the worse after a horrifying event took place while exploring a haunted building with three friends. Years later her first love comes back to town as a famous TV paranormal investigator and asks his old friends to go back with him to investigate that same building. Together they discover the buildings dark past as an insane asylum and encounter the evil ghost who still haunts it. Charley must overcome her fears and insecurities to embrace love and destroy the evil that had haunted her family for decades.
Description

Jacob Stone seems to have it all. Fame, fortune, good looks, and a dream job exploring paranormal mysteries around the world for his hit TV show. The one thing that still haunts him though was his first experience with the paranormal when he and his three friends snuck into a haunted building. It ended badly and he felt responsible for the damage that followed. He also never forgot his first love, Charley, who he hasn't seen since that night. Can he go back and find the answers now?

Charley's life changed drastically the summer she turned 13. Happy summer and first love ended in trauma. She is now a quiet, reclusive adult overwhelmed with responsibilities, watching life pass her by. Charley is amazed to see her childhood sweetheart on TV now as a famous (and still handsome) paranormal investigator. When he comes back to town with his show to investigate the haunted building where tragedy once occurred, Charley must face her fears and confront the evil ghost who has tried to control and destroy her family. Can she embrace a new life of love and adventure or will the ghost continue to haunt her family forever?

Readersfavorite review: 5 STARS "This spine-tingling novel will thrill and chill everyone who loves paranormal stories filled with ghostly encounters, bloodcurdling scenes, and a taste of budding romance."

About the author

Deana Evers began writing her first novel in middle school to entertain her friends during boring classes. When a teacher caught her passing around pages and asked her what she was doing, instead of sending her to the principal she encouraged her to keep writing. With her friends enthusiastic support she started five different novels, but never quite found the time to finish them. Someday, she thought, when I'm at home raising a large family I'll have time to write. Well, four active and occasionally dangerous little boys later that dream was put on hold. Despite winning a first place writing scholarship, Deana decided to major in Psychology. She went on to become a clinical social worker and certified hypnotherapist. She was a counselor in a mental hospital and then private practice. After burning out she became a bridal consultant, food pantry director, youth minister and greeting card merchandiser, while raising four active and occasionally dangerous sons and five dogs. She never seemed to find the time to write, but read books whenever she had a free moment, which she credits for saving her sanity. When covid hit, Deana finally found the down time to write her own stories. She found the creative juices flowing once again often writing on her cell phone sitting in the couch surrounded by noise and chaos from boys and dogs. Deana lives in a suburb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her husband and best friend of 27 years, her mostly grown sons, and her four spoiled Cavalier King Charles spaniels. Now that she's started writing again she doesn't plan to stop.  She has one other book out right now, "THE GHOST of BELLE ARBRES"
