About the author
Growing up on the streets of Detroit, Michigan, Marcus Dwyane Haskin learned at an early age that hard work, determination, and a strong belief in God would be the keys to his survival.
To avoid the potential dangers and pitfalls that many teenagers faced on the streets, Haskin obtained a job as a bellhop for an exclusive Detroit hotel. He would not easily escape the influence of the streets, as Haskin's position brought him face to face with countless drug dealers, pimps, and prostitutes. With a child-like curiosity, Marcus often prompted conversations that would reveal the varied and often horrific experiences that led these men and women to their current state. He was fascinated by the intimate details shared with him, and wanted their stories told to a much larger audience.
Through the story of each nameless face a soul stirring one-man stage play was born titled Through My Eyes. Committed to spreading his message of hope, opportunity and, breakthrough the Through My Eyes audience is treated to thought provoking performances of hard-hitting prose and poetry at what has become the newest theatrical rage.
