A whimsical new version of the traditional Christmas carol written by LaShonda M. Stewart and illustrated by JL Straw.

This is whimsical new version of the 12 days of Christmas with a soul food twist. It illustrates the love of a grandmother as she goes above and beyond preparing her grandchildren's favorite soul food over twelve days until Christmas. As the grandmother hums to the tune of the 12 days of a Soul Food Christmas, the grandchildren start to sing along.

LaShonda M. Stewart, PhD is a professor at Southern Illinois University's School of Management and Marketing within the College of Business and Analytics within the Master of Public Administration Program. Her area of expertise is public budgeting and financial management, and her research has been published in journals such as Public Budgeting and Finance, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management, and Administration & Society. In her free time, she enjoys creative pursuits including motivational speaking and writing children's books. She currently resides in Illinois.
