About the author
A typical day in the life of Candice Head, known as Candi by family and friends, includes both introducing her high school senior English class to the wonders of Shakespeare and modern Broadway as well as discovering a centuries-old Cypress tree that is now home to a family of bears. In 2004, after working in education for over twenty years, what began as a passion became a second full-time job when Candi fulfilled her long-time dream of photography and started Head to Toe Photos, LLC. Since that time, she has balanced her two loves, teaching and photography. Though experienced in a wide variety of photographic areas -- families, students, athletes, weddings -- she's most passionate about nature and has received state recognition for her wildlife photography. In 2014, she was recognized for excellence and contracted by the state of Louisiana to assist on its Economic Development Commission through her work as a photographer. She has also been given the honor of serving as a photographer for the Krewe of Rex during Mardi Gras. You can find some of her photography on the National Geographic Mississippi River Tourism page, which has recently recognized her work. Candi has lived in Tensas Parish for over thirty years and is a lifelong resident of Louisiana.
