Teaching Asian Christian Theology Through T'ai-Chi Ch'uan

Dissertation utilizes the philosophy of T'ai-Chi Ch'uan to express Christian Theology from an eastern perspective. Includes a manual of practicing T'ai-Chi as a way of experiencing God.

Exploring the various Eastern philosophies inherent in T'ai-Chi including Zen Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, the author compares and contrasts concepts with Christian theology. The manual includes photos that flesh out some of the forms of this martial art that are used to experience God.

Studied under T'ai-Chi Master T.Y. Pang and Professor Daniel Lee. As of the completion of this doctoral dissertation at San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo, CA, author was currently teaching T'ai-Chi Ch'uan at Nu'uanu Congregational Church UCC, Honolulu, HI and previously taught at the Japanese Baptist Church/ABC-USA, Seattle, WA and the Chinese United Methodist Church, Los Angeles, CA. Holds the B.A. degree (Cum Laude in Sociology) and the M.A. degree from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, HI and the M.Div. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA.
