Overview

"Take a Deep Breath, Sky!" is a wonderful story for children to understand the immense value in patience and acceptance. Using nature as the backdrop, it beautifully teaches how children can use their breath, relaxation, and a little bit of patience to overcome anger, frustration, and fear, gaining much-needed tools that will last a lifetime. The beautiful illustrations in the book will make your children feel as if they are part of the scene. They will identify with Sky's emotions and learn from Mr. Mountain's wisdom! Here are some early reviews:

  • "Life is not all rosy - even the thorns have a role in helping us to accept pain and experience the fragrance. This book reminds us of the beauty and rhythms of nature, which teach us about patience and resilience. It is a breath of fresh air. Innocence and curiosity help us to find purpose and meaning in life. It is a very simple, practical and educational book. What a lovely gift for any child!" - Professor Atul K. Shah, City University, London, UK
  •  "In a loving and concrete way, this book teaches children how to meditate. Two fundamental practices are provided to learn how to be present in life, since childhood. I recommend this beautiful book.  May we be part of a more lucid, compassionate and conscious humanity." - Lucrecia Pautasso, Psychologist-Energy Healer, Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • The pictures in this book are delightful and made me smile.  I am big on breathing and always say NONVIOLENCE IS ONLY A BREATH AWAY! To impart this skill so simply to kids will prevent many internal and external conflicts, given they can easily access their wisdom once they relax, and, are able to choose to respond with love and compassion instead of react in anger.  To have children understand the power of 10 BREATHS is a gift of Life!

Description

From an early age, we experience emotional distress when unexpected things happen that we don't always know how to deal with. As we grow up, we learn about various ways to deal with our emotions. Quite often we learn that many situations in life resolve themselves. All we need to do is be patient and accept things. The earlier we can learn this lesson, the more we can approach life with peace and happiness. While trying to help my five-year old granddaughter with her emotional ups and downs, I was inspired to write this story. After reading it to her, to my surprise, she understood the message and was able to relax. I was glad to see that my focus on spirituality, years of practicing meditation and affinity with nature had a practical benefit. Thinking that this story could help other parents and children, I bring you "Take a Deep Breath, Sky!" It is a wonderful story for children to understand the immense value in patience and acceptance. Using nature as the backdrop, it beautifully teaches how children can use their breath, relaxation, and a little bit of patience to overcome anger, frustration, and fear, gaining much-needed tools that will last a lifetime. I hope that the beautiful illustrations in the book will engage your children in the story and they will learn from Mr. Mountain's wisdom!
