Overview

THE GAME is a super-realistic novel intended for mature adult readers.  The format of episodes and scenes follows the pattern of a TV series.

Description

Set in Las Vegas and New England, the central story line follows an ambitious prostitute's attempt to separate a middle-aged school bus driver from his presumably sizable inheritance. The principal characters' tenuous grip on reality is tested throughout the novel's ten episodes, as shifting circumstances, expectations and relationships disrupt their efforts to maintain emotional equilibrium. Psychological elements underscore the impact of childhood trauma on adult personality, reinforced by successive betrayals, real and imagined.

About the author
DON WESTWOOD lived in New York City for most of his adult life, working in the performing arts as a producer and stage director. For part of that time, he occupied an apartment next door to two women who earned their livelihood in the game, as they referred to it. They became friends, and Don spent many afternoons in their company. The women enjoyed swapping stories about adventures and misadventures in that life. Their stories became the genesis of Don's novel, THE GAME.
