Overview
Amy Sweet's life is thrown a curve when she unjustly loses her job. Her best friends come to her rescue with comfort, chocolate, and the suggestion that she explore a career that she would genuinely enjoy. Her pursuit leads her to handsome and charismatic Logan who contracts her to paint his sparsely decorated home. Though their attraction is strong and immediate, sorrow and guilt render Logan unable to fully involve himself in their relationship as it playfully and sensuously develops. Logan is the perfect match to Amy's comical banter. She cannot believe her good fortune, and optimistically looks forward to their future together, until Logan announces he is traveling to California for an undetermined stay. Doubt and loss sadden her, but Logan indulges his need to solve his problems alone. Amy is patient and again seeks the wisdom of her friends. Their advice compliments her deep love for Logan as she tenaciously seeks answers that fully uncover Logan's truth.

About the author
Jackie Fancher was born in Evanston, Illinois. Aside from six years spent in Germany and Michigan, she has never lived more than a ninety-minute commute from Chicago. The invigorating pace, the lakefront and skyline, and the endless list of things to do keep her close by. Though she now lives and works south of the city, in Wilmington, Illinois, Chicago is a frequent destination for renewal and entertainment. While active in her church, local ACS Relay for Life, and diakonia™ training, Jackie spends her spare time reading and writing. Jackie has two sisters and three brothers who support and inspire her. Her son, Andrew, a constant source of pride, is the reminder that single mothers can work and raise thriving, successful children.
