When the speaker arrives to the United States, she struggles to fit in due to her lack of knowledge of the American culture which leads her to feeling isolated from the rest of the world. About the author
Michelle Tran is a high school student who lives in Southern California. This is one of her first book publications in where she challenges herself to step out of her comfort zone to write a whole poetry book revolving around the idea of self-discovery. She has taken this opportunity to experience a world of a writer and what the process is like to brainstorm various book ideas. Tran is an aspiring teen poet who admires colloquial prose.
