Something To Think About
by Judge Eugene L. Martin

Overview

'Something To Think About' is what it sounds like!. It's not a literary treatise; it's a short and sweet book full of observations, experiences, comments, and sometimes humorous stories reflected against the reading of the Christian Bible. "Accused" of often holding a unique perspective, retired Judge Eugene L. Martin designed these weekly devotions to connect the reader to ideas that might generate a genuine, thoughtful and realistic spiritual awakening.

'Something To Think About' is what it sounds like! This weekly devotional intends to connect the reader with observations to generate a genuine, thoughtful, and realistic spiritual awakening. It's not a literary treatise. It's a short and sweet book full of observations, experiences, comments, ideas, and sometimes humorous stories reflected against the reading and understanding of the Christian Bible. This little book of devotions is designed to provide you with something to chew on, digest, think through, and live with as you encounter and traverse your individual journey with our Lord Jesus the Christ. About the author

Eugene L. Martin is not, except maybe in the eyes of his family, a best-selling author. He did, however, invest 23 years as circuit court judge presiding over criminal actions from assaults and murder to, theft, rape, driving while intoxicated, and civil actions like negligence and personal injuries, custody battles, adoptions (his favorite), juvenile matters, and more. Martin earned his law degree from the University of South Dakota Law School just before being drafted to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War (1968-1970). Afterward, he practiced law in his hometown, including a stint as City Attorney. When Martin retired from the bench, he provided legal settlement services via mediation and arbitration. Always serious about the law and justice, Martin expresses a wry sense of humor, impressive recall, and enthusiasm to engage in good and meaningful discussion. Now fully retired, he resides in Rapid City, South Dakota with his wife, Sandra. They are blessed with three amazing children, two tremendous sons-in-law, and two of the best granddaughters in the world!

Reviews:

"Truly,  this is one of the best books I have read on spiritual matters.
Thank you so much for writing it; and I hope to read a sequel someday."

"We read it cover to cover. Big thumbs up."

"I read it cover to cover and was impressed enough to buy copies for my five grandchildren, ages 17-24. The book is very easy to read and a super reference when one wants something to think about."  This reader's granddaughter said: " ... I'm halfway through the book, and I'm really enjoying it. It's very thought provoking and I find myself thinking about what I read in the morning throughout the day!"

"An in-depth and inspirational book full of perplexing questions with easy-to-understand answers. i highly recommend Judge Martin's book, 'Something to Think About'."

"...some very common sense insights on life's journey, coupled with Bible quotations. More often than not I find myself having a personal conversation with Jesus through Gene's words. Each devotion has truly given me 'Something to Think About'."

"Five stars."

"It must have taken a tremendous amount of reflection and prayer. Very well done. I must say you have a supple imagination to conceive ways to come to our LORD with thoughts on the Little Red Hen, the Little Engine That Could, and zombies. I now include the book as part of my morning devotions. Lots of gems to enlighten my walk. There are even treasures in the book to share with my grandkids."

"It not only gives me an fresh insight into spirituality, but also, a new perspective of Gene and his spirituality which abounds with God’s grace."

Worth the wait!

"Gene Martin has the ability and foresight to capture his thoughts and express them in a clear, concise manner. I encourage Gene to create another series of topics for a second book of "SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT" that undoubtedly will please all of his readers."
