Sue Ellen Miner is proud of her native Texas roots. She was born and raised in Refugio, Texas, the youngest of four children who enjoyed a simple and happy upbringing in the country. After graduating from Texas A&M University, she spent 25 years tutoring children of all ages. When Sue Ellen’s passion for teaching children is combined with a lifetime spent nurturing her many pets, it’s easy to understand where she found the perfect inspiration for writing Shelby Shoes. Sue Ellen is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is married and has three adult children, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, three grandsons and a granddaughter.
