Seven On Seven Off

David Welborn has a unique profession. He transports the dead from where they fell, and in whatever condition they passed. Car accidents, suicides, homicides, and drug overdoses become common place for him as he grapples these horrors. He soon realizes that this tight knit profession is unknown to most of the world. Few people think of who gathers the deceased when they see a fatal car accident or hear of a murder. Often sent on the worst of the worst calls by his boss Randall, David and his colleagues, Joe and Susan, soon find themselves lost in a world of delusion, addiction, and the unknown. Each call they embark on is unique, and the living family members they encounter on the job only offers additional strain. He and his team must unite together upon the precipice of personal destruction or join what the ranks of those they have transported. Getting out alive may be easier said than done. This personal journey will take you to the extreme ends of damnation, salvation, death, survival, and the struggles we all have, or will face in life associated with death.

Seven On Seven Off is a novel that explores a subject that all are interested in at one point or another in their lives; death. Death is often an abstract thought for most people, and those who think of it fall into two camps; one being that of denial from fear, and the other is that death is an event that will not happen to them for some time. No matter what category one may fall into, it is undeniable that death ties all things together. Seven On Seven Off follows David Welborn and his team of "Reapers" as they deal with facing the prospect of death on a daily basis by dealing with the dead themselves. It offers an eye opening account of not only a little known job, but also a realization of how death effects the human condition daily. Author Biography David Welborn is a Maryland Based writer born on May 27, 1984. He attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Administration and Policy with a concentration in Economics. He is currently a Payroll Accountant in the cruising industry for the past four years. This was his first novella which was based on his experiences as a transporter for the deceased in 2012-2013. He was given a 5-Star review in the 2018 online competition for 'Readers Favorites'. David enjoys spending his time writing, traveling, and learning personal stories of others.
