Stop the car! What the hell is that on the road? Is it a cow or a dog or is it a John Deere tractor, maybe it’s Uncle Sam? Over there, not on the road but on the side of the road tilting to one side and stuck on a 4”x4” wooden post is a mailbox all gussied up to attract attention out here in the middle of nowhere. The book is photographic essay highlighting rural mailboxes from across America.

Brett Stern is an industrial designer and rides his bike in Portland, Oregon. He is the recipient of eight U.S. patents ranging from surgical instrument/medical implants to food packaging. He actually did learn something in college being the author 99 Ways To Open A Beer Bottle Without A Bottle Opener and most recently started/sold a snack food company with his invention of Beer Chips® - potato chips made with beer.
