Secrets are told to nameless seatmates in the dark in the middle of the night. Refugees, runaways, ghost chasers, blind men, and one cat fill the seats of your imagination and take you with them on their journeys towards or away from their lives. Riding the Dog is a collection of nine short stories that all take place on a Greyhound bus! What happens when strangers collide in cramped spaces? What secrets are told to nameless seatmates in the dark of the bus in the middle of the night. Two strangers exchange trinkets, unaware of a past that links them. A woman crisscrosses the country looking for her brother who disappeared in New York City on September 11th. A drunken musician loses his most treasured possession on a deserted West Texas highway. Enter a often-invisible world of travelers, bus drivers, and ticket agents. Get a glimpse of a different America as these stories reveal the refugees, runaways, ghost chasers, soldiers and blind men who take to the highways going towards or away from their lives.
