The book is my first self-published effort. Reflections of intimacy draws from media studies and critical theory in its framework. Through reflection, I aim to peel back a few layers of intimacy and in doing so, hope to expand the liminal bounds of the seemingly private subject within the public sphere. This books serves as an intimate reflection in its own right by capturing within it, vignettes of affect and affection. About The Author

Jewel is an award-winning artist and author whose work centers on contextual relationships with the body and the integral moments that shape our day-to-day. As a transdisciplinary artist, Jewel explores creativity through themes of ontology, collectivity, and transformation into an experimental stream of abstraction, reflection, and liberation. Jewel's work focuses on the intangible and the corporeal, blending photography, motion picture, critical writing, performance and installation art. His seminal book, Reflections of Intimacy, was the Pacific Book Award and Maincrest Book Award Winner in 2022; a finalist of the Eric Hoffer Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing, and a finalist of the American Writing Awards in the same year.
